UNDER CANVAS MOUNT RUSHMORE…glamping with 4 US Presidents
“The sheer size, craftsmanship, + level of detail of Mount Rushmore South Dakota is INCREDIBLE! Especially, with the technology + tools available in 1927. It took 14 years to complete + many workers started the project + never saw it completed.”
My gut told me to add Mount Rushmore South Dakota to our National Parks + Forests road trip, but I wasn’t sure.
Because it was out of the way, + I received very mixed reviews about the stone marvel.
So, did we end up going? Let’s just say this…I have a very trustworthy gut.
And, we stayed with none other…Under Canvas Mount Rushmore.
The sheer size, craftsmanship, + level of detail of Mount Rushmore South Dakota is INCREDIBLE!
Especially, with the technology + tools available in 1927.
It took 14 years to complete, + many artists/workers started the project + never saw the finished masterpiece.

I know there are some Mount Rushmore haters out there, but I thought it was worth the drive.
Learning about the Presidents, their families, + the overall process was super cool.
Plus, the lil baby mountain goats rock hopping at the base of the mountain didn’t suck either.
This was our second stay with Under Canvas on this trip.
The first one was at the Under Canvas Grand Canyon.
We preferred the Grand Canyon location a lil bit better, but both are great.
Fun fact, the Man Bun Guy was sitting right next to us one night.
Explaining him to Cameron was comical.
He had no idea who he was.
