FLATHEAD LAKE + BIGHORN NATIONAL FOREST…wow!

Paddle boarding on Flathead Lake, hiking Tongue River Canyon in Bighorn National Forest Wyoming, Bambi running around the backyard, delicious BBQ, + spacious cabin.
What else could a girl ask for?
I’ll tell you. Not a thing.
Montana + Wyoming ROCKED!
We didn’t have time to venture into Flathead National Forest from Lakeside, but it looks epic!
Flathead Lake alone is MASSIVE!
Renting a boat there would be a stellar move. Just sayin.
As for Bighorn National Forest…it blew my mind!
I’d never heard of it before, noticed it on Google Maps, and thought, “why not?”
Listening to my intuition paid off, because it was the coolest surprise on the entire road trip.
It’s such a GORGEOUS hidden gem!
And, we only saw a fraction of it.
I wanted to do 3 different waterfall hikes…
But, Tongue River Canyon was the closest to our predefined driving route.
It didn’t disappoint either.
The campground and trailhead are hard to find which added to the mystique IMO.
Hearing the water rush by was so calming + peaceful.
Helpful reminder, don’t forget to download an offline map of the area on Google Maps.
And, bring a hat, sunscreen + lots of water.
If we’re ever up that way again, I’d go back in an instant.
