That time I bought a wedding dress in Italy…WHAT A NIGHTMARE!

And best of all…the day I found my dress, Ryanair smacked me back down to reality from Cloud 9 in the most brutal way possible.

When I told people I was buying my wedding dress in Italy, they’d say, “Oh my God, what a dream come true!”. That’s what I thought until I went through the nightmare process myself.

There are so many things I wish I would’ve known before starting the researching + buying process, because I wasted days of time + energy on things that didn’t matter at all.

I had no idea how wedding dress designers, shops, trunk shows, ordering, fittings, etc. worked. I’d spend hours researching specific dresses only to find out they were from a previous season + most bridal stores don’t carry those specific dresses. And, reaching out to designers directly is a joke.

Then, layer on all the crazy logistics of finding dress shops in Italian cities I’m not familiar with, not speaking Italian, spending a lot of extra money on flights, rental cars, + Airbnbs/hotels, not having a friend possy to help me say yes to the dress, trying to get the dress altered in super tight timelines, hoping the dress fit after 6 months, sorting out the logistics for shipping/picking up the dress, and it wasn’t quite the dreamy process I originally envisioned.

And best of all…the day I found my dress, Ryanair smacked me back down to reality from Cloud 9 in the most brutal way possible.

Watch the video to see if my nightmare stayed a nightmare or finally turned into a dream.
